Kryp, the servers are down 'cause there was a glitch and people were exploiting it. Some people were making hundreds of millions of dollars too. Gold was selling at auction for 700-900K + Rediculous I only saw part of it, 'cause today was my first day back. Then after a bit, we all had to leave so they could do "emergency maintenance". ***EDIT*** More info on the "bug" pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=188032Lol I think this is what they were doing, "Funny thing is everything is set up like a quest you receive dyes from selling cash shop clothes and sell the un-used portion of the dyes to the merchant, as I see it that doesn't come off appearing to be a bug." - from said link (page 13) "Not sure if it has all be figured out yet but here is my 2 cents worth: Some players discovered an exploit, an item they could purchase from the boutique for less than they could sell it for at merchants. They would purchase the item, sell it to a merchant and trade their ill-gotten ingame gold for boutique gold. The exploiter would then repeat the process again and again until they became billionaires. Because of their need to trade great quantities of ingame gold for boutique gold they created an extra demand on the market driving prices higher. Other players saw this sudden inexplicable rise and cashed in, selling their own gold for exorbitant prices to the exploiters. Prices are now dropping back to a reasonable level. Possibly the exploiters have been caught and punished. It is reasonable to surmise that the gms have been able to monitor to auction gold purchases and discover who has been buying at these high prices. They almost certainly can see who is buying great quantities of the glitched item. The players have probably had their accounts suspended. I would not recommend that anyone try to cash in on the exploit since they too will suffer the same fate. If this is true there will likely be no rollback. The problem will be fixed via account suspensions or other disciplinary measures. It surprises me how quickly people jump to silly conclusions. If you haven't graduated high school math don't assume you can be an accountant. The GMs have not created this mess. They likely have been working their balls off to contain it. And when it is fixed will anyone give them credit? Probably not. They will still shout about corruption and rollbacks." - page 20 There is also the "Etherblade Lake Bug" where people were getting stuck. pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=188072**UDATE ON RUMORS OF THE BUG** It's quite entertaining imo, all the things that have been said. "Duke Rose set were the bugged items that you could convert into millions of coin. " Falls - Sanctuary ( pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=190122&page=13 )

The real bug was that mobs were dropping insane amounts of coins, like 50k-100k a kill. They were around Etherblade lake(lvl 2-15) so imagine just aoe spamming+looting and getting like 10mil in 10 minutes? thats what led to the gold price hike. people with millions can buy gold at any price and people took advantage of that.

well in that thread and a few others, it was stated that ppl were making insane amounts of money from said mobs. There were other locations as well, but it was never mentioned where. I hope they do do a rollback to right after main or right before it. Many insanely rich people will make the economy HEAVILY unbalanced.
