I haven't tried or tested this out yet and doubt I would notice a difference if there was one, but fly in tiger form 'cause you are supposed to fly faster based on the assumption that the +speed of flying mount is based off of your character's speed.
If you use accelerate often, buy the cheapest lvl 1 stones to recharge your mount, it's supposed to be more cost affective. Never really used this feature, but it's what's in the link.
